MITO recovery support for recent floods in Malawi
On January 15, 2015, His excellence, the State President of the Republic of Malawi, declared a state of Emergency after floods devastated 15 districts in Malawi. MITO, in collaboration with Malawi Washington Association and Friends of Malawians in North America initiated a drive of monetary contributions via the North American Flood Relief Effort. Together as a team, we bought learning materials that were donated to Thangadzi Primary School in Nsanje and also bought food supplies that were donated to Mauzi Ward in Phalombe North East.
MITO would like to thank all Malawians in the diaspora and friends of Malawi for their generous contributions.
